Guest Bathroom Plans, Inspiration, And Mood Board

We’re finally getting to the fun part of renovating this house, which for me is bathrooms. I’ve always loved renovating bathrooms the most. I think it’s because I feel like I can usually go pretty funky or creative in bathrooms, since they don’t exactly have to flow with the vibe of the whole house. Bathrooms also have small walls, which is perfect for a fun tile, wallpaper, or any other unique pop of design.

Here’s what we’re thinking for this guest bathroom –>

This house is definitely a passion project for me. I’m getting to use products i’ve had saved in the back of my mind forever, and bring old ideas to life in this house. One of those products is the Ivy Hill patterned tile. When I saw this tile, I started planning the rest of the bathroom around using it.

The bathroom we’re renovating has the perfect wall to showcase this tile right behind where the vanity will be going.

The soffit above the vanity area will be removed, and I want to fill the whole wall behind the vanity with the patterned tile in a random order.

I had initially bought a double sink vanity, but returned it for a single sink vanity after picking out this tile. I wanted just one single mirror in the middle over the sink so we didn’t cover this patterned tile too much.

Flooring

After I decided on that tile, I knew i wanted a fun floor tile but a pretty basic tile surrounding the bathtub. Ivy Hill tile once again comes to the rescue. Their large emerald tile was stunning and the perfect fit to give this bathroom a pop of color.

It has a rougher (maybe slate look?) to the surface which I thought complimented the patterned tile well.

Fixtures

I haven’t decided on the exact fixtures yet, but I think I’ll stick to matte black faucets and shower hardware, as well as a black single mirror. For a vanity light I want something sleek and simple to not distract from the tile. Some of my favorite go-to fixtures can be found on my favorites page.
