Kitchen Update + Deciding On Cabinet Hardware

This week I need to decide on finishes for the kitchen we’re renovating, meaning i’ve been perusing (what feels like) the whole internet for the perfect cabinet hardware! I love a good antique brass or textured gold look when it comes to hardware. This kitchen has a beautiful balance of masculine and feminine features, and it definitely needs cabinet pulls that make a statement.

Just a reminder, this is the look we’re going for in the new kitchen:

If you’ve missed the kitchen updates, check out this post detailing the transformation that’s happening to get caught up. We’re painting the original cabinets Van Buren Brown by Benjamin Moore, and using a stunning, bold, contrasting slab for the counters. This week, the cabinets were painted in the main part of the kitchen and the wet bar area. We also have most of the walk-in pantry up!

Next, we’ll add counters, finish the lighting, add hardware, and a faucet!

The start of the walk-in pantry!

I love adding a wet bar to the dining area when possible. It has endless possibilities, whether you want an actual bar or just more storage. This house gave us the perfect opportunity to add one when we changed the floor plan. This wet bar area will match the kitchen since it’s right next to it. We’ll be using the same white zellige tile as backsplash up the ceiling, with two large exposed wood shelves in the middle, similar layout to the one we designed in the last house ➡️

Hardware

I know I want to go with brass hardware, but I’m having such hard time deciding which one!

The issue is that i pictured long, statement handles against the brown paint, but since we used old cabinets the holes were already drilled at 3″ for hardware.

If I would’ve thought about that ahead of time, we could have filled the holes, painted, and drilled new holes to any desired length but unfortunately I only thought of that after the final coat of paint. So, we’re stuck using cabinet pulls with a 3″ center, which isn’t what I wanted but will make it work!

Option 1:

I’ve used this brand (Goo-ki on Amazon) before and have loved them as a budget option for cabinet hardware in the past. They do a good job at creating an antique brass look that still shines, which is what I think I’m looking for.

Option 2:

This handle is beautiful, although it doesn’t fit the antique brass look I was going for and is a bit more modern. I think the black and gold would compliment the counter slab we picked out so well and bring a modern touch to our “antique” looking kitchen. This handle is a bit on the pricier side, but might be worth it.

Option 3:

This is another cabinet pull by the Amazon Goo-ki brand that I love. These are simple, but have a cute little textured detail at the end that I like. These are currently my favorite option, but it’s so hard to choose!

Final thoughts

I’m so in love with this kitchen and want to perfect the hardware, so please help me make my final decision! Which one is your favorite?
