Kitchen, Wet Bar, & Walk-In Pantry Reveal!

Today is a really big day! I’m super excited to take you on a tour of my recent kitchen renovation project. If you follow along, you know I’ve been planning the details of this kitchen area for a while now and it’s finally done!

It was a labor of love, but the end result is nothing short of amazing. I can’t wait to share all the details and design choices that went into turning this kitchen into a stylish and functional space that I absolutely adore.

If you’ve missed out on the previous posts, you might want to check it out to see the old layout, initial plans, and before photos! Here’s the first kitchen plans and here’s the update I posted a while ago.

The general idea

When we bought this house the kitchen area was made up of the kitchen, a small area next to the kitchen, and a semi-open room that I believe was used as the dining room. So, that’s a lot of space not being used properly.

Since the empty area next to the kitchen was big enough for a dining table, we didn’t need a whole extra dining room, which meant I finally create something I’ve always wanted to with the extra space… a walk-in pantry!!

This was the un-usable empty space next to the kitchen that we eventually expanded and turned into the dining area!

The previous dining room that got turned into our walk-in pantry with a wet bar on the front wall facing the new dining space!

Let’s get into it

Once we walled off the walk-in pantry, the front wall became the wet bar that would face the dining room. We kept most of the original cabinetry in the kitchen, and added these cabinets to this wall. All cabinets got a coat of Van Buren Brown by Benjamin Moore which I think immediately changed this space so much!

In the new pantry area we went with white cabinets. Since It’s closed off from the rest of the house we figured we’d switch it up and have something a bit more timeless in the pantry.

We also selected a countertop slab, which was my absolute favorite part. From the beginning of these kitchen plans, I knew I wanted something bold and fun to really complement the brown cabinets, and this was the perfect match for what I was envisioning!

Time to stage!

The day for us to stage this house finally arrived, and I couldn’t have been more excited! I was so ready to see this kitchen area decorated to its full potential, and it did not disappoint. Here it is!

As you can see, the extra dining room is no longer there. We created this useful wet bar area with the walk-in pantry behind it. I love the way these exposed shelves turned out. We used simple shelf brackets from Amazon that we set behind the tile, and had custom shelves made.

In the kitchen we kept the layout mostly the same, but we added a stunning leathered stone for the counters, zellige backsplash, brass hardware, and new appliances.

From the kitchen you can see the entrance to the walk-in pantry. It’s near the garage entrance so the panty could double as a mud room or storage.

For the walk-in pantry we went with a simple, clean vibe so it could be used for anything. Since there’s a door between this room and the kitchen we didn’t need to make it have the same look. We kept it cohesive with the same hardware and same shaker style cabinets.

That’s all!
