Do you guys remember how this bathroom started? Carpet floors, a random window looking into the guest bathroom, popcorn ceilings, outdated wallpaper, and a large vanity that made for a horrible use of space.
Luckily, I made a plan to not only fix everything wrong with this bathroom, but really highlight it as one of the best parts of this house. To see what we planned check out Primary Bathroom Plans And Mood Board. For once, I actually stuck to the design plan without making a hundred last minute changes throughout the renovation, so the vision really came to life!
This bathroom is in a house we’ve been renovating with a cozy, yet colorful and modern vibe to it. I knew I wanted this bathroom to look a bit more “mature” than the guest bathroom in this house, but still have fun elements. When I picked the checkered floor tile I knew I wanted that to be the star of the show, so I designed the rest of the bathroom around that. I had used this green vanity before in a previous house, and it was the perfect fit.
The one regret I have with this bathroom is laying the tile in a square pattern instead of turning it to be a diamond pattern when you walk in. I still think it looks nice, but the diamond pattern would have been great.
We also added checkered tile as a wet bar backsplash in the dining room, so it felt cohesive with the rest of the house.
We didn’t change many details from our original plan, so you can read about product choices in this post.
Overall, I think the bathroom turned out so beautifully and really flows with the rest of the house!
My favorite thing about this bathroom is the way the brass and gold fixtures really highlight this bathroom and make it feel luxurious without losing the cozy, homey feel.
What would you call this style? The checkered floors are so cozy-modern to me, while the faucet screams farmhouse. It all still works together in my opinion! What would you call this style? Let me know in the comments!
